Your school’s submissions
How your submissions stay private
Yearkind is operated by Variance Holdings LLC.
Yearkind collects photos, audio, PDFs, and Word (.docx) documents for a school’s organizers, including yearbook photos, school events, class projects, contests, and performances. A school’s upload link lets students, families, and staff add contributions. It does not let them browse or download other contributors’ files.
What we collect
Organizer accounts use an email address and, optionally, a name. Google sign-in also provides basic profile information for your organizer account. Contributions include the original photo, audio, PDF, or Word document, its filename, upload time, and the folder chosen. A contributor can optionally add their name and a caption. Original files may contain information added by a camera or document author, such as the date, location, or author’s name.
Who can see your files
Organizers must log in to view, play, sort, and download files for their own school. The school owner can invite other organizers to the same collection. Our systems manage sign-in and keep your school’s submissions private.
Billing and your trial
Stripe handles card setup for the trial, annual payments, and billing contact details. Yearkind keeps the school’s Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan status, and billing dates. Yearkind does not receive your full card number.
When you choose the card-required trial, it’s $0 today for 14 days, then $149 USD per school per year automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends. You can manage your card, invoices, and cancellation from Plan & billing in your account. If your school no longer has trial or paid access, new uploads pause. Organizers can still view, organize, and download existing files; Yearkind does not automatically delete them when billing ends.
Optional Dropbox copies
The school’s account owner can connect a Dropbox account in school settings. Yearkind’s Dropbox access is limited to its Yearkind app folder, rather than the rest of that account. Yearkind copies the school’s original submissions into that folder, including files already collected. New files and folder changes sync from Yearkind to Dropbox. This connection does not import Dropbox files into Yearkind. Dropbox’s storage, access, and sharing settings apply to those copies. Only connect an account approved for your school’s files.
Yearkind stores the connected Dropbox account ID and display name to identify the connection, along with encrypted access and refresh tokens. Disconnecting removes the saved connection tokens and stops new sync jobs; a transfer already in progress may finish. Deleting a file in Yearkind or disconnecting Dropbox does not remove copies already sent to Dropbox; the school must handle those copies in Dropbox.
Sharing thoughtfully
Only submit files you have permission to share with your school’s organizers. Your school decides which contributions it uses for yearbooks, projects, contests, performances, or other school activities, and how it uses downloaded copies.
Removing a contribution or school
Contact your school’s organizer if you want a contribution removed. Organizers can delete contributions from their dashboard. A school owner can delete the whole school collection from school settings, which removes its Yearkind originals and stops organizer access and new uploads. If a subscription is still running, the owner must confirm its cancellation in Stripe before deletion finishes. Copies already downloaded or sent to Dropbox must be handled by the school.
Contact messages
When you send Yearkind a message, we store your name, email address, and message in our systems for our team to review. If you’re signed in, we also record your organizer account identity after verifying your sign-in. Contact messages are not public. Our email delivery service processes contact details and message content to notify our team and deliver our replies.
Website analytics
If you allow optional analytics, we use Google Analytics and analytics cookies to measure public website visits, navigation links, account signups, and checkout starts. Advertising features are disabled. Analytics does not receive school collection links, invitation tokens, school names, filenames, submissions, or the names, email addresses, and messages entered into forms. Organizer dashboards, collection pages, invitations, and the private support workspace are excluded. You can change your choice below. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.
